In most cases our surveyor attends within hours of receiving an instruction. We pass preliminary findings to the client straight from the site, which helps the insurer decide early whether the cargo can still be used, whether it needs sorting and what to do with the rest of the consignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What logger data shows<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a refrigerated unit the temperature is usually recorded by a logger. Its data shows whether the required temperature was held along the whole route or whether something went wrong at some point. If a reefer shipment arrives spoiled, keep the logger and its records. When the case is being investigated, they often say more than any explanation from the parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If a refrigerated shipment arrives damaged<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are the receiver, try not to unload everything before the cargo has been recorded. Photograph the unit, the seal and the goods as they stand, note the seal number, keep the logger and the damaged packing, write your remarks on the transport documents and tell the insurer as soon as possible.
